My solo show Soft Cymatics was at Not For Sale Gallery in Hackney Wick, London 25th to 31st of January 2026. In advance of the show I shared the making of Soft Cymatics on my substack newsletter.

The exhibition included ticketed private entry to the exhibition to explore the Soft Cymatics instrument, play it and chat with me; an eco-friendly synth building workshop which ran on the 31st of January 4PM-7PM, and a closing party in collaboration with Crux which ran January 31st 7:30PM-10:30PM.

About Soft Cymatics:
Soft Cymatics is a new large (2 metres wide and tall) synthesizer meticulously crafted using velvet fabric offcuts sewn into a giant quilt made up of patches patterned with the cymatic symbolic representation of each tone. With a plush feel and a lush sound, music is performed by touching the quilt that has capacitive touch circuits embedded in its thread. Exploring concepts of neuroaesthetics, Soft Cymatics challenges synthesizer interface designers to consider how the use of larger, eco-friendlier and fuzzier materials impacts music performance.

Eco-Friendly Synth Building Workshop:
The sold out workshop was a hit! Ten participants from all over London joined me in the gallery to learn about how to create capacitive-touch circuits with conductive sewing-thread and in this way create the circuits used in the Soft Cymatics instrument which trigger audio samples by touching the fabric. This workshop was so fun I look forward to runing it again soon.
