Young Barbican Night: Jean Dubuffet, 15th of July 2021, The Barbican London

I find Dubuffet's multidisciplinary DIY approach hugely inspiring so it was a huge honour to be invited to perform live inside the Jean Dubuffet exhibition Brutal Beauty at The Barbican. This was a huge comprehensive exhibition of Jean Dubuffet's work and art collection, and this was a gallery lates event open to Young Barbican Members (under 25 years of age). In response to the artwork and collaging lyrics made of words that were part of the exhibited works, for two hours I improvised a live experimental electronic/pop set from within a gallery room of the exhibition that was broadcast to all other exhibition rooms. Also part of this event was a zine making workshop led by artist Ioana Simion and Artizine UK using Dubuffet’s techniques of illustration, collage making, and mark making.
